Meet the Core Team

According to cohousing architects, it just takes one "burning soul" to get a cohousing project built. Fortunately, there are already three committed souls on board. This group is on fire to lead the early stages of community formation, site acquisition, and organizational development.

Kelly Roberge

Picture
Kelly is an artist, graphic designer, and professional eclecticist. She has a B.F.A. from ASU and a Masters in Art Therapy from Prescott College. Kelly has run  branding and social media campaigns for small businesses, nonprofits, and government. Kelly uses her obsession with design to create beautiful objects, more fulfilling relationships, and more connected communities. See Kelly's portfolio HERE.

Kelly loves living in this gem of a city.  From the smorgasbord of architecture to the amazing food, she takes glee in discovering the next treasure in her chosen home town. When she's not out looking for cohousing sites, Kelly loves snuggling up at home with the cats, watching movies, and listening to podcasts.

Charles Matheus

Picture
Charles has over thirty five years’ experience as a wilderness guide, nonprofit executive and leadership consultant. He earned a B.S. in Education from Cornell University and completed graduate work in the application of nonviolent principles to education and leadership. Charles uses his skills in strategic planning, group facilitation, and public speaking to empower groups and individuals to reach their peak. Utica is the most vibrant, diverse city Charles has ever lived in and he is having a ball riding the bus to museums, getting involved politically, and hanging out at the Farmer's Market.

Carol Gable

Picture
Carol grew up in a military family living in Japan, California, and Maryland.  She is a CPA and has worked as a financial administrator in higher education for 35 years.

Carol has long been committed to volunteer service with organizations like the Unitarian Universalist Church and Planned Parenthood.  She pioneered local climate action, helping a pair of small cities become Climate Smart Communities.

Carol's greatest joys are her two adult sons, who live in Brooklyn. She also likes listening to music, contra dancing, reading fiction, and being outdoors.  Carol loves living in Utica for many reasons, such as its wonderful diversity, Erie Canal history, and jewel of a park system [designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. and supported by Olmsted City].

Gus

Gus is a cream soda. A creme brulee. A ripe banana. A flying parkour artist in stripey pajamas. The only thing he likes better than chasing the laser is when he can goad Munchie into chasing him.

Munchie

Picture
Munchie is a sleek trickster and mysterious gazer. He stares because he needs complete information. For what use, we shiver to imagine.

Bill

Picture
Bill joined our team in 2015 and was a true partner in the podcast. if you listen closely to episode 29, you'll hear him singing along with guest Candace Devine. Bill had a stroke in 2020 and died. We miss him and we're so happy to have been part of his life.
